Sweet Christmas Turned Sour

Yesterday's Christmas was both enjoyable and disastrous. Woke up at the ungodly hour of 7 to rush to church where i was perpetually falling asleep (closing my eyes pretending to pray and actually napping). Lunch with Mummy and Uncle Guan Hap at Commonwealth's famous Chicken Briyani stall was good :)) Later went shoppping with mummy, I got a top from Mango, Forever21 and a pair of pants from Topshop, while she (FINALLY) got herself two pairs of flats from Pazzion and PJs from CottonOn Body! Shopping with her was really veryvery fun.

At home, i opened my presents and received a Tocco bag from my mum, which to her cost an effing $299, before a 50% discount. Which also chalks up to a whopping $150. She's spent so much money on me this Christmas, and my Christmas present to her is my bursary money. Seems horribly insincere of me, but she said she'd prefer that to me using her money to buy her gifts.

The shitty part was when my sis came home, and I told her that her gift from my aunt was on the table. As usual, she began criticising it for being "So Small?!" and that they "must be recycled goods". When i brought out my gift to her she took it and said "Nice wrapping, but must be crap inside". Then when she took it out, she said "What the Hell?!", but after a while she said it was nice. I was so happpy that I started saying "Whooo after 18 years... success!" To which she promptly replied that it was nice considering it was Aunty Shang's gift to me.

And I was like... "What? No, it's my Christmas gift to you."

To which she gave the most condescending "WHAT?!" ever and said "You're supposed to make up for my 21st birthday present!"

I was furious. I said "I didn't even KNOW I was EXPECTED to give you a present." So much for my hoping that after 18 bloody years of trying, her attitude towards people would have changed. She's still ever as selfish, self centered and freaking critical. Apparently if my gift was from Aunty Shang it would have been acceptable, but no, coming from a family member i was fucking EXPECTED to give a BIGGER present. Bigger in terms of SIZE, MONETARY VALUE and INTENTION.

Oh and the most hypocritical bullshit of all, she later announces nonchalantly "Oh anyway you guys have to wait for your Christmas presents this year, because Im quite broke now..." Oh, and to top it all off, I get loads of shit from Jingxin for not replying his message. That i truly deserve.
